Welcome New 5th Graders!

Welcome to our class blog.  What is a blog you say?  The dictionary definition for the word blog states that it is a web site containing the writer's or group of writers' own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and links to other Web sites.  So this really is just a fancy writer's journal we could say. This is a neat way we can learn about Reading and talk to each other about our books.  I will write posts and you will get to comment or answer questions that I post here on the blog.  Make your questions and comments great ones, because comments that are not directly related to Reading will not be posted to our blog.  I think you will find this to be a really fun way to practice being a writer.

Wow!  How lucky I am to have such bright new students this year!  I just know it is going to be a great year!  After all we have been going from good to great here at Lewisburg, so I guess that makes it pretty fitting.  We are going to be doing some really fun stuff in Reading class and I can't wait to get started. 

Let's practice  blogging today to see what it will be like.  What kinds of books do you like to read?  Did you read any over the summer?  What has been your over all favorite book read?  Don't forget to add your name to your blog so we will all know who posted a comment!

    I hope things go smooth this year.It would be easier.Any way,I love to read harry potter books.My favorite so far is The Sorcerers stone.

    Ilike to read the Andrew Clements books but my favorite is the warriors books

    Im reading a really good series called Allie Finkle Rules For Girls im reading on right now they are by Meg Cabot!!!!!!! they are in the libary hope you like them! ~Callie~ :)

    HIII!!!!I'm So Surprised That I've only read one book buthave read 76,000 words.I've never been so happy!I love it.I also love the blog maybe you can take videos of us doing projects and post them on here.Yeah that be cool.I can't stop typing.I've never been able to blog before!Any way I'd love to know what is you favorite book?Do you like Harry Potter?Any way I have only 5 miutes left.Gotta go pack up.TTYL. ;)

    I lioke funny books. Right now im readinig Trading Faces and Wringer by Jerry Spinelli. I love action books and science books <3~cora:) (*.*)

    HEY Mrs.Simmons I am reading a cat book called three disappearing kittens and it's a really good book because i just got to the kitten part of the book.I just found out that the kittens were in a basket in a consignment shop and the girl that worked at the consignment shop knew that the kittens were in a basket so I really don't know why the book is called the 3 disappearing kittens.Can't wait til I find out. I'll talk to you when I find out.

    I love doing book club its really fun to experience what all these authers set out to the world im enjoying these teachers,new faces,and new learning.I can't wait to get to know you a little more this year. my favorite book is probably GOOSEBUMPS its a great book im starting to like the book you reading us maniac magee.thats acually a funny book title and i did read over the summer. My old teacher mrs.dye said i put alot of details when i write maybe because o love writing. I don't know well get back to me soon

    I don't know that I have one favorite book in particular. I love to read, so to pick just one would be really hard. I guess one that I like to read over is The Invention of Hugo Caberet. It is about a boy who is an orphan and he finds out some magical history about his family. It is very mysterious and intriguing. I think you would like it!

    over summer i read a book called Mocking Bird it was sad but i still liked it it is my favorite book. my favorite books are goosebumps and scary books.
